In the author’s account: Rigid membranes are said to hinder osmosis and diffusion so that cells do not properly release metabolic waste.
Spiritual response
Name areas of fear and entrust them to Jesus; renounce the spirit of fear and anxiety; receive God’s love, peace, and safety; pray for proper cell-membrane permeability, exchange of substances, and cleansing of the body.
Wright also allows for environmental exposure and chemical injury.
