Panic Attacks
According to Henry W. Wright
Possible Spiritual Roots
Wright points to a spirit of fear and to growing fear and anxiety; unlike a phobia, a panic attack does not have to be associated with a specific place or stimulus.
In the author’s words: The hypothalamus triggers a violent hormonal response and the body’s alarm reaction, which intensifies the experience of panic.
Spiritual Response
Recognize thoughts and projections of fear; subject them to the truth of Christ; renounce the spirit of fear and panic; accept God’s love, peace, and security; pray for the calming of the nervous system, breathing, and heart.
