Chronic insomnia
According to Henry W. Wright
Possible spiritual roots
Fear, anxiety, or inward torment following wounding or victimization.
Possible background to the fear
Tragedy, insecurity, phobias, or unresolved circumstances project the expectation of danger into the future.
The person worries about tomorrow and remains watchful instead of resting in peace.
In Wright’s model, the prolonged fight-or-flight response keeps the hypothalamus aroused.
Chronic insomnia or sleep disturbance.
Spiritual response
Bring fear and torment to God, entrust the future to Him, and learn to rest in His presence and care.
