Type 1 diabetes

According to Henry W. Wright

Possible spiritual roots

Wright points to extreme rejection. In many cases he encountered in ministry, he found direct rejection by the father; sometimes by a husband or another significant male person.

The rejection is internalised as a conviction of one's own worthlessness and difficulty receiving love.

Self-hatred and guilt develop. Wright also mentions a broken heart and a possible family or generational component.

Wright places type 1 diabetes within the autoimmune profile: immune system cells destroy the insulin-producing beta cells of the pancreas.

The author describes the sequence particularly clearly: rejection → self-hatred or guilt → autoimmune conflict.

Spiritual response

Forgiveness, receiving the love of God the Father, healing of the broken heart and prayer for freedom from self-rejection and guilt. Prayer for healing.
