Divination pendulum

Seeking answers through pendulum indications

A pendulum is used in dowsing and divination to obtain answers to questions. The direction or type of its movement is interpreted as an indication concerning the future, decisions or hidden knowledge. Answers are attributed to energy, intuition, the subconscious or invisible influences.

Involvement includes using a pendulum oneself for such readings, consulting people who use it and attending courses that teach the practice. Its divinatory character consists in accepting its indications as a source of knowledge and guidance.

Scripture prohibits divination (Deuteronomy 18:10–12). A Christian should not seek answers through a pendulum or make their conduct subject to its indications. Calling this practice “working with intuition” or “reading energy” does not change its character if the pendulum functions as an oracle.

The spiritual response requires ending pendulum divination and consulting such readings. Confessing one's involvement to God, repentance and renouncing the search for knowledge and guidance through this practice are necessary. The pendulum and materials used for divination must be removed. The foundation is acknowledging Jesus Christ as the only Lord of one's life and praying for forgiveness, cleansing and deliverance.
