Who he was

Derek Prince (August 14, 1915 – September 24, 2003) was a British Bible teacher, pastor, missionary, theologian, and author. He was born in Bangalore, India. He studied Greek and Latin at Eton and then ancient and modern philosophy at King’s College, Cambridge. During the Second World War, he served as a medical orderly in the Royal Army Medical Corps.

On July 31, 1941, while in military service, he experienced an encounter with Jesus Christ that completely changed the direction of his life. From then on, he devoted himself to studying and teaching Scripture. He ministered in the Middle East, Africa, Britain, the United States, and elsewhere, while his teaching reached many countries through books, radio broadcasts, recordings, and the work of Derek Prince Ministries.

Prince taught on the foundations of Christian faith, repentance and faith, baptisms, the Holy Spirit and His gifts, laying on of hands, resurrection and judgment, the cross of Christ, healing, rejection, forgiveness, blessings and curses, prayer and fasting, the believer’s authority, spiritual warfare, demons, and deliverance.
