One Touch of Christ

“Christ in you” — Colossians 1:27.
How great the difference between the old and the new way of deliverance! One touch of Christ is worth a lifetime of struggling. A patient in one of our hospitals was in danger of losing his sight because a small piece of broken needle had entered his eye.
Operation after operation had only irritated the eye and driven the foreign object still farther into the delicate nerves of this sensitive organ. At last a skillful young physician thought of a new approach. One day he came without a lancet or probes, holding a small but powerful magnet. He held it before the wounded eye, as close as the patient could bear. Immediately the piece of steel began to move toward the powerful attraction. Soon it flew out to meet the magnet, leaving the suffering eye completely relieved, without effort or an incision. It was as simple as it was wonderful. A single touch of this power saved the eye and completely cured a dangerous condition.
This is how God delivers us: through the simple attraction of Christ’s life and power.
